Kirtan and Bhakti Yoga – Coming Home to Your Heart

November 3rd, 2019 - 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

The tradition of yoga postulates that the abode of the mind is in the heart. As our mind quiets and our heart blossoms, we have the opportunity to discover a sense of fullness within ourselves and in relationship to the world. 

In this workshop we will immerse ourselves in classical yoga practices that promote healing and integrated growth in all aspects of our lives. Through the Bhakti Yoga practice of Kirtan, breath-centered movement, mantra, meditation and an exploration of the chakra system, we will invigorate our practices, nurture our body, and awaken our heart’s endless capacity for love. 

This yoga workshop is intended to be accessible for all levels of practitioner and will provide appropriate challenges and adaptations for each participant, facilitating a positive and nurturing experience.

The Light Within – A Winter Solstice Yoga and Mediation Class

Light is an inspirational symbol that pervades many of the world’s traditions, serving as a point of reflection to better understand our highest potential and our connection to the world at large. During this darker time of year we will delve inward, as we explore how the yoga tradition emphasizes the light within each of us is a metaphor for clarity, truth, consciousness and connection. 

Using accessible movements, breathing practices, chanting, visualization and meditation, we will enrich our understanding of how transformational yogic meditation can help us to actualize our most authentic sense of self and enrich the quality of all our relationships.

This workshop will provide useful meditation tools for all experience levels and is intended for anyone interested in yoga and meditation. No prior experience is necessary.

Attuning Heart and Mind - A New Year’s Day Yoga Practice

Join is in starting the New Year by setting your intention for self-care, continuous growth and fresh resolve for each day. Through breath-centered movement, kirtan, and guided meditation we will we will invigorate our practices, uplift our sense of connection, and learn to harmonize the inner-workings of our hearts and minds.

This thought provoking, heart-felt practice will facilitate our coming into greater awareness of the gifts that are present in every moment. This class is intended for all-levels of practitioner.

Foundations of Meditation in the Yoga Tradition

Three Sundays - February 9th thru February 23rd, 2020 - 2:30 PM - 4:00 PM

Through meditation we can learn to calm our mind, focus our attention, and develop a deeper understanding of ourselves. As this process matures, it helps us to foster compassion, loving kindness, and a sense of greater fulfillment in our lives.

This three-part series will explore the time-honored methodology outlined by Patanjali in the Yoga Sutras, guiding us as practice yoga techniques that help us sustain our attention, balance our nervous system, and create a richer connection to our highest potential. Through breath-centered yoga poses, pranayama, and guided visualization, we learn to find peace and unfettered happiness in the present moment.

This workshop will provide useful tools for all experience levels and is intended for anyone interested in yoga and meditation. No prior experience is necessary.
